Children First Early Education's Commitment to Child Safety and Wellbeing
At our Children First Early Education centres, the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of every child are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud of the strong systems, culture, and professional standards we have in place to create safe, nurturing, and respectful environments for children, families, and Educators alike.
Our Commitment to Child Safety & Wellbeing
We believe that child protection is everyone’s business. That’s why we have built comprehensive measures into every part of our operations—from recruitment and training through to daily supervision and the use of technology.
Our commitment goes beyond meeting requirements. We continuously review and strengthen our practices to ensure children are always safe, supported, and respected.
How We Keep Children Safe in Our Centres
We have implemented a range of robust child protection measures across all of our centres, including:
Comprehensive CCTV surveillance, with cameras operating throughout our centres (we are one of only a handful of organisations with this level of monitoring).
Team-based supervision, with Educators working in pairs wherever possible.
Rigorous recruitment and screening processes, managed by both our People & Culture team and Centre Directors.
Mandatory Child Protection and Child Safe Standards training for all team members during induction and renewed annually.
Ongoing verification and audits of Working with Children Checks.
Large supervision windows for clear visibility across all learning spaces.
Additional child protection training offered to all staff in all states—even where it is not a legislative requirement.
Adoption of the National Model Code for Taking Images or Videos of Children, ensuring safe and respectful use of technology and electronic devices within our centres.
The wellbeing and safety of all children in our care will always be our priority.
