The Four Elements of 3a
The Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a) is brought to life through four interconnected practices that are woven naturally into each child’s day.
Language Priority ensures that every moment—whether it’s play, mealtimes, or transitions—is treated as an opportunity for meaningful conversation, helping children build strong communication skills from an early age.
Enriched Caregiving transforms daily routines, such as feeding, resting, or getting ready, into valuable learning experiences that combine care with education.
Conversational Reading makes story time highly interactive, with back-and-forth dialogue that encourages children to ask questions, share ideas, and develop both comprehension and a love of books.
Learning Games provide a rich collection of more than 200 research-based activities that encourage creativity, curiosity, problem-solving, and joyful one-on-one engagement between Educators and children. Together, these four elements ensure that learning is not something separate from care, but rather a natural, intentional part of everything we do.
